**Denotes picking the series winner correctly, not necessarily in the right number of games.

Believe it or not, basketball is my first passion. My love for the game was birthed from a blend of Michael Jordan finals performances, NBA Live '99 (yes, the one with Antoine Walker on the cover) and pick up games with my cousins & brother in the front yard. I couldn't start a sports blog and not include my $0.07 cents about the NBA.

Tentatively, the NBA Section for The Sporacle will be reserved predominantly for making predictions like "what teams will make the playoffs from their respective conferences"?, "who will be rookie of the year"?, or "what team will be hoisting the Championship trophy at seasons end?".

I'd love to pick every game of the NBA season and see just how lucky/accurate my daily picking could be; but that's just unrealistic. I've got a real job unlike those guys at ESPN. =P
Must read: Those Guys Have All the Fun: Inside the World of ESPN by James Andrew Miller & Tom Shales

Me, I'd prefer to just write articles about how Norris Cole might be the steal of the NBA Draft or what team I think Dwight Howard inevitably gets traded to.

I'll probably pick a game every now and then--the big ones of course. And I'll definitely pick each NBA playoff series like I did last year.

Hopefully, I'll be right more often than I'm dead wrong.

My goal though is simply to be right more than Charles Barkley. No prob.
